I was born and bred in Darfield and have lived there all my life. I started my career working in the Darfield Bakery for 5 years which is where the nickname 'Scones' originated from. After that and an OE, I moved back to New Zealand, and in 2015 starting working for Hazlett - and I'm having a ball.
I am married to Lauren and have a daughter Ella and son Jed . I play a lot of rugby and enjoy a hit of golf and a few cold ones with my mates.
I am pleased to be able to provide Hazlett's client base in the Selwyn and surrounding areas with all their Agronomy needs.
I grew up on a small sheep and cropping farm near Pleasant Point in South Canterbury and have spent my working career in the rural sector.
My focus for many years has been on grain, seed, chemical and merchandise, that contribute to successful farming practices.
I am married to Christine and we have three daughters who live in Otago and Canterbury.
Our interests now are the girls careers and their families, along with some overseas travel.
I enjoy working as an Agronomy Specialist, alongside, and part of the Hazlett team.
Since leaving Bay of Plenty in the early 2000’s for a stint at Lincoln University I’ve immersed myself in the field of agronomy. I’ve had various roles including forage cereal breeding and agri-chemical product development. Darfield is now home for me where I live with my wife Ash and our two young boys, Archie and Alby. Outside of work I like to head to the hills for a spot of mountain biking, hunting and skiing. Through Hazlett I’m proud to supply our farmers with industry leading knowledge and products.
I grew up on a Sheep, Beef and cropping farm in Mid Canterbury. From there I headed into Christchurch for a few years and realizing that cities weren’t for me I went into an Agriculture Sales role that lead me to the Hawkes Bay. I have been there for many years now, focusing on supplying Rural Supplies and Agronomy to Hawkes Bay farmers. My wife Liz and our two kids, Alex and Tessa enjoy sea fishing and getting to the lakes with family and friends. I am proud to be part of the Hazlett team and adding value to our Hawkes Bay clientele.
Spending my time growing up in rural Canterbury, I have always had a keen eye for agriculture. Prior to my role with Hazlett, I was involved in the agricultural machinery industry and so am pleased to be able to bring experience in that sector with me. I now live in Darfield and have a large involvement with the footy club here, as well as playing hockey. I enjoy fishing, tramping, having a few tubes with my mates and when there is snow on the mountains, skiing. I am stoked to be a part of the Hazlett Agronomy team, establishing and growing networks within the rural community.
Born in Darfield, I lived on sheep, beef and cropping farms in Darfield, Oxford and Te Pirita for 20 years before moving into the accounts receivable industry. I have three young adult children, Thomas, Annabel and Henry all living in the central Canterbury area. I’m a life member of the Darfield rugby club and also enjoy tennis, mountain hiking and the odd game of golf. I am thrilled to be part of the Hazlett Agronomy team, meeting and dealing with all our clients.
From Christchurch and originally in IT for 8 years, I got the urge to chase down another passion of mine, which is all things farming - can't get enough of it! I have two children, Noah and Isabella, who I love spending time with - when I'm not teaching them they're teaching me. In between all of that I'm a keen 4wd-er, hunter and fisherman as I really enjoy getting out of the chaos and into the peaceful wilderness. I enjoy my role supporting the farming community.
I lived all my childhood in Kaiapoi and Woodend, but I am definitely no country girl. There were no farm blocks for me. I have worked in Administration since leaving Kaiapoi High and have worked in many different industries. I happily joined the Hazlett family in July 2018 after working 18 years as an Administration Manager in the fire industry. I love the change and the real family feel that Hazlett has. I am married to Damian and have two daughters, Mackenzie and Tayla. Outside of work I love walking, running, bike riding in the forest close to our home, camping, boating and catching up with friends and family.
I grew up on a farm in Kaikoura and have wonderful memories of farm life. I then went to the big smoke and was educated at a Girls School in Christchurch and started my working career.
I worked for several years in the export industry exporting wool, skins and animal by products. I then established a successful business in partnership with my husband, which gave me the flexibility to spend time with my children while they were young - they are now young adults. I then moved onto Hazlett and have been here pretty much from the start of the wee company, which is not so wee anymore.
I enjoy walks, gardening and generally socialising with friends and family (and I'll watch rugby if it's on).
