Having been in the financial services industry, both finance and insurance, for the last 30+ years in service and management roles, I have a passion for developing long term quality client relationships based on great service, always being available and putting people ahead of profits.
Opportunities to have face-to-face time with clients are greatly enjoyed. My personal life is occupied spending time with my wife Jane, our three grown children and our passion for gardening, water skiing and tramping.
I came to Hazlett Insurance with 27 years experience in the insurance industry, 10 years in the United Kingdom as a Claims and Placing Broker, then Underwriter, and for the past 17 years in the Rural Broking area for FMG and Aon Rural in New Zealand. I feel that old fashioned client service is very important as a Rural broker and I was keen to continue this at Hazlett.
I am Canterbury born and bred, have 2 teenage sons, and am an enthusiastic sportsman who enjoys coaching basketball, skiing, mountain biking, and supporting my sons sporting endeavours.
I joined the Hazlett team in April 2019, having spent the previous 8 years working in the insurance industry, specialising in both Rural and Commercial sectors. Having grown up in the South Canterbury region and graduating from Canterbury University with a Bachelor of Commerce, I then opted for a career path as an Insurance Broker. I have always enjoyed the challenge of the Insurance broking industry and working within the rural community by providing a quality service to clients. I was excited at the opportunity to continue this with the Hazlett team. Outside of work I enjoy travelling, I’m keen on all sports, in particular rugby, skiing, hunting and getting the sticks out on the golf course.
I have come to Hazlett insurance as a Broker in the Lower North Island with extensive experience in the insurance industry. I started with HIB in 2018 after my partner Kelly and I returned from travelling and living overseas in Cambridge. Having grown up on the family farm on the West Coast of the South Island, I have always had a passion for the land. This is largely why, after finishing my secondary school years at Christchurch Boys High School, deciding on a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Agriculture, was an easy decision. I completed this at Lincoln University, graduating in 2013. From Christchurch I moved onto Taranaki. This is where I began my career in the insurance industry which, so far, has seen me working with a range of clients across NZ, providing insurance solutions in both the commercial and rural sector. Outside of my working life, I am an avid lover of sport (rugby in particular) and travel. During my time in Taranaki I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to play a number of games provincially for Taranaki and Waikato. My partner, Kelly, and I have recently returned from an 18-month stint overseas, where I played semi-professional rugby in Cambridge, and spent any spare time travelling through Europe. It was, without a doubt, an experience of a lifetime. However, I have clear goals and aspirations which I am passionate about achieving, so I am excited to be back on home soil in Fielding where I can continue to further my career.
I have been in the insurance industry since 2007. Initially working at Lumley General Insurance as an Assistant Underwriter before becoming Senior Broker Support, and then on to be an Insurance Broker.
I joined Hazlett Insurance at the end of May 2017 and really enjoy being part of an amazing group of people.
In my spare time, I love to cook, shop and spend time with my family.
I joined the Hazlett Insurance team in July 2020 after two years at another broking firm, working in their corporate team. Having grown up in Christchurch, gaining an education at Christchurch Boys High School and graduating from Lincoln University on a cricket scholarship, I initially took up a role as an Account Manager in the fuel industry. I am thankful I made the move into the insurance industry as I enjoy the diversity and challenge that comes from working with a range of clients, providing insurance solutions to individuals and across all business lines. I am looking forward to continuing this with the Hazlett Insurance Team. Outside of work I live with my partner Sinead in Christchurch. I am an avid sports fan - I enjoy playing golf, have played rugby and cricket most of my life, as well as completing a stint playing cricket in England.
I am originally from Romania and have lived in New Zealand since 2004. I have been in the Insurance industry for many years, joining the NZI team in 2007. In October of 2014 I joined a global Insurance Broking company as an Account Executive here in Christchurch and I got hooked on Insurance Broking.
I have joined the Hazlett Insurance team in March 2019 as Broker Sales Support. I very much enjoy assisting clients with their insurance needs and finding solutions that will better suit their Insurance requirements. Practicing a high level of customer service is very important to me and, as I do in my personal life too, I always strive to succeed in all my endeavors. Continued personal and professional growth is always at the forefront.
In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors - mountain biking, skiing, hiking. Also spending time with my family and having cuddles with the family pet.
I am originally from Dunedin, but have lived in Christchurch for most of my life.
After leaving school I worked for Christchurch Insurance Brokerage for 12 years, in reception, claims and broker support. After my son, Max was born in 2011 I enjoyed a 2 year break and have now returned to part time work.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and enjoy my insurance role with the Hazlett team.
I joined Hazlett in March 2020 from a customer service background, bringing a passion for quality personalised service to make peoples’ lives easier - developed through a number of roles in hotels, restaurant and catering companies. Most recently, I have been with the Vero Earthquake team, working on complex claims resulting from both the Kaikoura and Canterbury earthquake events. I moved to Christchurch from Auckland in 2009, to study at Lincoln University, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce and met my partner Mel. Canterbury has become home for us, where outside of work I enjoy cooking, wine, football and getting up the mountain on my snowboard.
