General Manager Funding & Procurement North Island
I have had spent most of my working life-time in the stock and station industry starting in Christchurch at PGG in the wool division in 1987. The past 20 years have been spent working across the North Island in various roles including wool, finance and management roles. I now reside in Hawkes Bay with my wife Ginny and we have 3 school age boys. Interests include Cricket, rugby, farming and travel.
Growing up as a child I always wanted to be part of the stock and station industry and join other family members who were involved in Hazlett Ltd. Whilst I enjoyed growing up in a number of different places all over New Zealand, my schooling was completed in Canterbury.
Whilst my partner Vicky and I have recently made the move to the North Island as Hazlett continues to grow, I still call Canterbury home. I started my career in the industry in 2013 with another Livestock company before joining the Hazlett team at the end of 2016.
I love playing my hockey in the winter and enjoy summer BBQ’s and a bit of boating over the warmer months.
I have been in the finance industry since leaving school when I began working for a trading bank in Dunedin for 10 years before heading on my OE to London. I spent 3 years working overseas in the international banking sector and the Queens Bank in London. I also spent a lot of time travelling through the Middle East, Europe, Russia and Africa. On my return from my OE I worked for PGG before leaving to have a family.
I am married to Greg with 2 wonderful children, Caleb and Brooke. I enjoy been involved in my kids' activities which includes soccer, swimming, tennis, cricket and gymnastics.
I grew up on sheep and beef farms in both South Canterbury and North Canterbury so the rural way of life is definitely in my blood.
After leaving school in I spent a year working as a receptionist for a blind cleaning company before moving into the rural industry where I worked in the office for a livestock company for 10 years.
At the beginning of 2016 my husband Matt and I welcomed our first child, Blake. Then in April 2018 we welcomed our second child, Jade with them both keeping us busy. In spare time I love to get outdoors and spend time with friends and family. I also love to spend time in the kitchen baking.
I joined the Hazlett Funding & Procurement team in May 2017 and am really enjoying my role here with a great team.
I was born in Dunedin but have spent most of my time in Christchurch. After graduating from University with a Commerce degree majoring in Accounting and Taxation, I started working in the insurance industry where I remained for 5 years before moving to the finance team at Hazlett. In my spare time, I like to go for walks and enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I joined Hazlett in June 2017 and I look forward to the challenges in my new career.
In the motor vehicle industry for well over 15 years doing administration and finance, I have swapped tires for hooves. Having grown up in the city it didn’t take much to convert me into a farm girl when I meet my partner, who is involved in the farming sector. We now have a small sheep farm in North Canterbury. I really enjoy the hands-on learning about livestock. I have two grown boys who now live in Australia and two step-sons. My interests include cycling, touch, watching rugby, and spending time with family and friends.
Having grown up on a family farm in the Hawkes Bay and having a real passion for livestock, I have always been set on a career in agriculture.
After finishing boarding school I completed a B. Com. Ag, majoring in farm management at Lincoln University. Following that I started as a junior livestock rep with Hazlett before going on to service the Banks Peninsula / Ellesmere area until mid-2015 when I made the move back to the Hawkes Bay.
In late 2016 I re-joined Hazlett, based from my home in the Hawkes Bay. I am excited about the opportunities ahead and eager to get back into the stock and station industry.
As an aside to my work with Hazlett I am also the east coast regional livestock rep for Firstlight Wagyu. In my spare time I play a bit of tennis and squash and love to get out hunting and fishing and enjoy helping at the family farm at Maraekakaho.
I have been involved in the agricultural industry in one form or another all of my working life. My wife Petrina and I have a small farm at North Makarewa in Southland. All the kids have fled the nest so its no problem for me to get around the South Island doing my genetics work for this great company. I enjoy working with farmers and helping them make progress on the farm.
My interests include rugby, camping, boating and breeding low input sheep on our little farm.
After qualifying as an accountant, I worked in the Stock & Station industry from 1986 until 1999. Since then I have worked at Day-Timers, Hawksbury Trust, and most recently for the CDHB at Burwood Hospital. I am married to Ann and we have two great adult children. I am an avid Canterbury, Crusaders and All Blacks fan and go to all home games. I also enjoy travelling, cycling and camping.
